The Calling Voice Church

A Glendale church community that began as a home church in 2020, grew through Panorama City, and moved to Glendale on May 5, 2024.

A Church Rooted in Community

The Calling Voice Church is a growing Christian church community that now gathers in Glendale at Rose Chapel. Its journey began as a home church in 2020 under the leadership of Pastor Samvel Avagyan. After COVID, the church moved into a small church hall in Panorama City, where about 20-25 people gathered. On May 5, 2024, the church moved to Glendale because of the large Armenian community there.

For the people who worship there, The Calling Voice Church is more than a Sunday service. It is a place where relationships are formed, encouragement is shared, and faith is practiced through the ordinary work of staying connected to one another.

Pastor Samvel Avagyan's Journey

Pastor Samvel Avagyan first served as a pastor in Armenia before moving to the United States with his family after winning the Green Card lottery. Beginning again in a new country did not change his sense of calling. He continued building a supportive, faith-driven community for born-again Christians, bringing together people across Panorama City and Glendale.

His perseverance helped shape a church known for warmth, closeness, and steady care. The early home gatherings and later Panorama City church hall gave the congregation a close foundation. Over time, Glendale became a meaningful next step for the community and a new home near a larger Armenian population.

A Sunday Gathering

The church's Sunday service typically begins at 1:00 PM and ends around 2:30 PM. What stands out most is not only the service itself, but the fellowship that continues afterward. People stay to talk, encourage one another, and share life beyond the formal gathering.

That sense of rootedness is reflected in a memorable statement shared by one parishioner:

"You have to choose one community where you can grow your roots."

The phrase captures the heart of The Calling Voice: church as a place not only to attend, but to belong, grow, and build meaningful relationships over time.

A Welcoming and Multicultural Experience

The Calling Voice has also made a thoughtful effort to welcome people from different cultural and language backgrounds. During Armenian-language sermons, attendees who need English can use high-tech listening devices to hear live interpretation.

The English interpretation is provided by Ester, one of Pastor Samvel's daughters. Through the headset, English-speaking listeners can follow not only the meaning of the sermon, but also the emotional tone and emphasis of the message. When Pastor Samvel speaks with passion about a story, lesson, or spiritual point, the interpretation carries that sincerity forward.

Music is also part of the family's service to the church. Pastor Samvel's wife serves as the pianist, helping lead the worship atmosphere with care and consistency.

Together, the hospitality, translation, family involvement, and shared faith create a welcoming environment where people from different backgrounds can feel included and spiritually connected.
